Accenture weighs $1.5 billion Greater China unit sale
Accenture is reviewing a potential sale of its Greater China operations, covering mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, in a deal that could value the business at up to $1.5 billion. The company has hired JPMorgan after receiving unsolicited buyer interest, but no transaction is assured; it may retain a minority stake to preserve client continuity. The review comes as tighter Chinese rules constrain foreign consultancies and Accenture weighs how to direct resources toward AI-related services amid uncertainty over whether AI will boost demand for consultants or replace some of their work.
