Alabama Man Charged in Chainsaw Killings of Two Women

Thomas Steele, 47, is accused of killing his aunt, Christy Deloach, and grandmother, Dora Boone, in their Mobile, Alabama, home, allegedly decapitating both with a chainsaw. He faces two capital murder charges, and a judge denied him bond. A relative called 911 hours before the killings, reporting that Steele had stopped taking lithium and was behaving unusually; the caller told the dispatcher he was calm and not violent. Authorities say Steele will undergo a mental competency evaluation, which could take up to 90 days.
