Amazon Confirms Devices Unit Job Cuts

Amazon cut jobs in its devices and services division as it continued rolling out new products, including Kindle devices and an Alexa-powered alarm clock and photo frame. A person familiar with the matter put the reductions at about 250, while the company described them only as a small number of roles and said the changes would improve efficiency and align staffing with its product roadmap. The cuts follow about 1,000 job reductions in Amazon’s core retail division earlier in October.
