Armani heirs weigh 15% stake sale to LVMH, L’Oréal and EssilorLuxottica
Giorgio Armani's will requires his heirs to sell a 15% stake within 18 months of his death last September at age 91, naming LVMH, L’Oréal and EssilorLuxottica as preferred buyers. CEO Giuseppe Marsocci, appointed last October, told reporters on the sidelines of the Spring-Summer 2027 womenswear show in Milan on Sept. 27, 2026 that "It is not written in stone that it has to be one investor" and that any transaction depends on "price and details." The show, titled Evolution and led by Silvana Armani, ended with her accepting applause. Dario Vitale was appointed head of accessories and creative director of Emporio Armani; Marsocci said "everything was evolving and that from here into the future, you never know." Asked about the assumption talks were underway, Marsocci said "it may have some logic." Reports place formal meetings for late September or early October after an initial June expectation. The company plans to follow the will’s timetable. Revenue fell 2.8% to 2.19 billion euros in 2025 after a 5% drop in 2024, while EBITDA rose 3.2% to 153 million euros. Contested: none found.
