Singer Jennifer Lopez opened up about becoming Mrs. Affleck.
She spoke with Vogue about taking her husband Ben Affleck’s last name, which was referred to as “dispiriting” in an opinion piece published by The New York Times.
“What? Really? People are still going to call me Jennifer Lopez. But my legal name will be Mrs. Affleck because we’re joined together. We’re husband and wife. I’m proud of that. I don’t think that’s a problem,” Lopez said.
Mark 10:9 said, “What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
Lopez also addressed what is in a name for her.
“You mean there’s no part of you that might want Ben to be Mr. Lopez?” the Vogue writer wrote.
“No! It’s not traditional. It doesn’t have any romance to it,” Lopez said. “It feels like it’s a power move, you know what I mean?”

“I’m very much in control of my own life and destiny and feel empowered as a woman and as a person,” she shared.
Lopez further explained that she “can understand that people have their feelings about it, and that’s okay, too,” but she feels that it is romantic.
