Ben James takes one-shot Mexico lead with 64

Ben James shot an 8-under 64 to reach 15 under par and take a one-shot lead into the weekend at the World Wide Technology Championship in Los Cabos, Mexico. He made five consecutive birdies around the turn and added another on the 18th hole, while Peter Malnati’s 64 left him second. James, a rookie who has already secured his PGA Tour card for next year, has recorded 14 rounds of 65 or better in 13 tournaments since turning professional. It is his second time leading a tournament into the weekend; he previously failed to contend after holding the lead at the RBC Canadian Open.
