Boston Legacy scores three late goals to beat Washington Spirit 3-0
The Boston Legacy stunned the second-place Washington Spirit 3-0, scoring all three goals after the 80th minute for their second straight road win against a top-five opponent. Aïssata Traoré opened the scoring in the 81st minute, then Amanda Gutierres struck twice in stoppage time, including a long-range chip after intercepting a pass and a close-range finish from Lilly Reale’s cross. The result lifted Boston to 7-12-5 while Washington fell to 13-7-4, though the Spirit remained second in the NWSL standings. In the day’s other match, the Chicago Stars drew the Portland Thorns 1-1 after Taylor Wood scored her first NWSL goal in second-half stoppage time; Chicago had trailed because of an own goal and matched the league record for goals conceded in a season.
