Briscoe Takes Talladega Pole, First of Season
Chase Briscoe won the pole for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway, earning his first pole of the season and the 10th of his career with a lap at 186.065 mph. Austin Hill qualified second, followed by rookies Connor Zilisch and Shane van Gisbergen, while Kyle Larson, the points leader, will start 10th. Briscoe said the strong starting position is welcome, but the race’s handling and fuel-saving demands will shape how the event unfolds.
