Bull and Schwarz Digits sign deal for European-controlled AI cloud

France’s Bull and Germany’s Schwarz Digits have signed a preliminary agreement to develop a European AI and cloud infrastructure stack, spanning servers through software and aimed especially at regulated and strategic sectors. Schwarz Digits will provide its STACKIT cloud, while Bull will contribute AI and high-performance-computing expertise and manufacture systems at its Angers, France, facility; Bull’s BullSequana AI platform is also slated for the STACKIT Marketplace. The companies say the planned services will keep sensitive data, infrastructure and operations under European jurisdiction and control. They also plan to explore jointly designed servers, SAP RISE integration, major computing projects and quantum-computing integration; financial terms, launch dates and technical specifications have not been disclosed.
