Caribbean Football Union backs Infantino for 2027 reelection
The Caribbean Football Union has unanimously endorsed Gianni Infantino for another term as FIFA president, with its 25 voting member associations adding a significant bloc of support ahead of the March 2027 election. The CFU credited FIFA investments in infrastructure, training and youth and women’s football with helping member associations that have limited resources. FIFA’s plan to raise financial contributions to member associations from $10 million to $25 million, alongside development projects such as new pitches in Aruba, has also strengthened Infantino’s support. The union backed continuity in development programs while continuing to call for greater transparency, good governance and meaningful reform. The Asian Football Confederation has also endorsed Infantino, while FIFA council member Kohzo Tashima has announced plans to challenge him.
