Chainlink Tool Aims to Let Institutions Lend in DeFi While Keeping Custody
Chainlink introduced CustodySync, a system designed to let institutional clients access DeFi lending markets while their digital assets remain with qualified custodians. Anchorage Digital, a federally chartered U.S. digital asset bank, is the launch partner. The system is intended to connect custody and lending operations using custodian-managed controls and verifiable data, helping institutions meet custody requirements while reducing operational friction and the risk of mismatched loan valuations. Chainlink says the product addresses a gap between regulated custody and on-chain lending; market-size figures cited by the company, including more than $80 billion in DeFi lending, have not been independently verified by all reporting outlets.
