Clemson to pay Georgia Southern $1.5 million for 2026 home game
Clemson will host Georgia Southern on Sept. 12 in its 2026 home opener, seeking to rebound from a 51-10 loss to LSU in the season opener. The Tigers fell out of the Coaches Poll after being outgained 644-145, and coach Dabo Swinney said quarterbacks Christopher Vizzina and freshman Tait Reynolds will both play. Georgia Southern opened its season with a 31-0 win over Charleston Southern, led by quarterback Max Johnson’s 281 passing yards and one touchdown. Clemson is paying Georgia Southern $1.5 million to play at Memorial Stadium and will pay Charleston Southern $450,000 for an Oct. 17 matchup. The Clemson-Georgia Southern game will air at 7:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network, with Wes Durham and Max Browne calling the action.
