CME Names Tobin Deputy CFO With 2027 Promotion to Top Finance Job
CME Group has appointed Chief Accounting Officer Jack Tobin, 63, as deputy chief financial officer effective November 2, 2026, with plans for him to become CFO in March 2027 when current finance chief Lynne Fitzpatrick becomes CEO. Tobin joined CME in 2002 and has led its accounting and corporate finance functions for many years; Matthew Render will succeed him as chief accounting officer. The company also said General Counsel Jonathan Marcus will step down, with John Marchese set to succeed him. The leadership changes are part of a broader succession plan under which current CEO Terry Duffy will become executive chairman.
