Construction Worker Killed in Madison Hit-and-Run

A road construction worker was struck and killed Thursday afternoon near Pflaum and Alder roads in Madison, in front of Sennett Middle School. Police said the driver left the scene, speed appeared to be a factor, and investigators have identified and contacted a person of interest; the worker’s identity has not been released. Police are also in contact with the driver of a potential second vehicle involved, who came forward after seeing a surveillance image. Pflaum Road was closed in both directions while the crash was investigated, and nearby schools adjusted dismissal plans.
