Couche-Tard Reportedly Offers Up to $8B for Cumberland
Alimentation Couche-Tard has reportedly offered $7.5 billion to $8 billion to acquire Cumberland Farms, the U.S. convenience-store operator formerly known as EG Group. The reported bid is below Cumberland Farms’ $9 billion target valuation for a planned U.S. IPO, which has been delayed amid takeover interest and is not expected before 2027, though the company has not announced a public timeline. Stonepeak was also reported to have expressed takeover interest. Couche-Tard and Cumberland Farms did not immediately comment on the reported offer, and Cumberland Farms has said it remains committed to a U.S. listing.
