DBS Survey: 88% Use or Pilot Tokenised Money
A DBS survey of 422 leaders at large companies found that 88% are using or piloting tokenised money, with stablecoins the most widely adopted option, followed by tokenised deposits and tokenised money market funds. About two-thirds said they have moved beyond pilots into scaled or limited live use, citing potential gains in liquidity management, faster cross-border payments, and transaction traceability. The findings come as businesses adapt to shifting trade routes and seek new markets, with Southeast Asia the leading expansion destination. DBS executives said adoption is advancing faster than expected; the survey also pointed to growing interest in using the Chinese renminbi for trade settlement in some markets. Companies nevertheless face obstacles including regulatory uncertainty, security concerns, limited expertise, and integration challenges.
