Domino’s Franchisee Abruptly Closes 13 Northern Ohio Locations

Pizza-industry operators and franchisees are closing underperforming restaurants as they restructure amid weaker sales and changing consumer spending. Yum Brands plans to close about 250 Pizza Hut locations in the first half of 2026 under its Hut Forward strategy, while Papa John’s plans to shutter 200 restaurants by the end of the year. Domino’s franchisee Anthony Satterwhite abruptly closed 13 Northern Ohio locations through Mile High Pizza Company, reportedly amid financial difficulties, though the franchisee did not provide a reason. Domino’s called the closures an isolated franchisee matter and said it is working to transfer the stores to new ownership and reopen them. Chuck E. Cheese’s parent company has also stopped renewing leases for some locations that are no longer economically viable.
