easyJet Plans Starlink Wi-Fi Across Fleet From 2027

easyJet announced on October 26, 2026 that it will partner with SpaceX's Starlink to add in-flight Wi-Fi across its Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo fleets, the first onboard internet since the airline's 1995 founding. Installation is to start in the first half of 2027 and finish by early 2028. The carrier carried 100 million passengers in 2025 and operates over 350 aircraft on more than 1,200 routes. Planned features include browsing and streaming from take-off to landing, flight-status checks via app or website, destination weather, transport and tourism information, and ordering from the inflight menu at seats. In January 2026 CEO Kenton Jarvis said the economics of a Starlink deal did not work, according to Bloomberg reporting cited by Quartz; that stance is reversed by the new agreement. SpaceX already holds aviation contracts with IAG, Emirates and United Airlines Holdings, per Bloomberg. Ryanair still offers no Wi-Fi, with CEO Michael O'Leary citing weight and drag; he and Elon Musk publicly traded insults after Ryanair declined Starlink, and Musk joked about buying the airline. Bloomberg also reports easyJet is the subject of a take-private deal with Apollo Global Management that wants premium offerings on core routes. The announcement does not state whether the Wi-Fi will be free or paid. CONTESTED no contested claims found
