Fayetteville Allows Mobility Devices on Trails
Fayetteville, Arkansas, has changed its rules to allow residents with disabilities to use motorized accessibility aids on city trails, subject to safety requirements such as a 15 mph speed limit and yielding to pedestrians and cyclists. In Greensboro, North Carolina, the 4-mile Downtown Greenway was completed in May 2026 after a 25-year effort, creating a continuous nonmotorized connection between downtown and nearby neighborhoods, including areas affected by redlining. The projects highlight efforts to make trails more accessible and connected to the communities they serve.
