Portland Salon Faces Second Herpes-Exposure Lawsuit
A 31-year-old woman is suing Portland’s PDX Nails, alleging she contracted HSV-2 after an acrylic manicure in August 2025; the lawsuit says the technician did not wear gloves and that symptoms began the next day, with a follow-up test confirming the infection. She is seeking $2.5 million from the salon and also names Oregon health agencies, arguing they failed to take stronger action after earlier complaints. The suit cites a 2021 state investigation that allegedly found sanitation problems, including improperly cleaned drill bits and foot-spa equipment. It is the second similar lawsuit involving the salon: an earlier customer’s case, based on an alleged 2023 infection, was settled in 2025. The claims have not been established in court; the salon has not publicly commented on the new suit and says its website that it follows strict sanitation protocols.
