Hotel Prices Rise 6.7%, Highest in 17 Months
Spanish hotel prices rose 6.7% year over year in September 2026, the sharpest increase since April 2025, while average revenue per occupied room reached about €141.60. The September average was roughly 15% below August’s €166.90, reflecting seasonal differences rather than necessarily lower prices for the same hotel or room. Hotel overnight stays increased 1.7% in September and 1.5% over the first nine months of the year, with growth stronger among international visitors than Spanish residents. Other reporting likewise found domestic demand softening as overseas stays supported growth, underscoring the pressure higher rates are putting on Spanish travelers. Marbella recorded the highest average room revenue among destinations, while Ceuta and Madrid had the largest annual hotel-price increases among regions.
