Hundreds flee Ethiopia into Kenya after Moyale clashes
Hundreds of Ethiopians, many of them women and children, crossed into Kenya after clashes erupted in the border town of Moyale, with gunfire continuing on the Ethiopian side the following day. The fighting’s cause was unclear, and Kenyan officials said many arrivals were staying with relatives and other residents while the Kenya Red Cross assessed needs and arranged assistance, including temporary shelter and supplies. Kenyan police reported that a woman was wounded by gunfire and that bullets struck property in Moyale.
