Idaho Supreme Court to hear Vallow Daybell appeal of three murder convictions

The Idaho Supreme Court is scheduled to hear Lori Vallow Daybell’s appeal of convictions tied to the deaths of her two children, Joshua “JJ” Vallow and Tylee Ryan, and Tammy Daybell, the wife of her husband, Chad Daybell. Vallow Daybell received three life sentences; Chad Daybell was sentenced to death. Her lawyer argues that she was denied a speedy trial, was improperly prevented from keeping her preferred attorney because of a conflict-of-interest ruling, and that jurors should not have heard evidence about shootings in Arizona. Vallow Daybell was also convicted separately in Arizona of conspiring to murder her estranged husband and her niece’s former husband, who survived.
