JetBlue Creditors Hire Advisers as Shares and Bonds Fall Sharply

A group of JetBlue’s major creditors has hired restructuring adviser PJT Partners and law firm Akin Gump as the airline’s shares and bonds have fallen sharply, signaling concern about its ability to manage its debt. The group includes holders of $2 billion in bonds due in 2031 and a $742 million first-lien loan. JetBlue faces mounting costs, substantial debt and continuing losses, while higher jet fuel prices add pressure to its effort to return to sustained profitability. The airline says it remains confident in its JetForward plan, and hiring advisers does not mean a bankruptcy filing or operational changes are imminent.
