Kucherov Sets Lightning Points Record
Nikita Kucherov became the Tampa Bay Lightning’s all-time leading scorer, recording his 1,138th career point with a first-period power-play assist against the Utah Mammoth and moving past Steven Stamkos. Kucherov reached the mark in 890 games, nearly 200 fewer than Stamkos needed to accumulate 1,137 points in 1,082 games. The milestone adds to Kucherov’s decorated career, which includes multiple Hart and Art Ross Trophies and two Stanley Cup championships. His sustained high-scoring seasons have helped him build a substantial lead over the franchise’s previous scoring leaders.
