Lauren Speed Claims Show Gave Fake Ring

Love Is Blind alum Lauren Speed-Hamilton said the engagement ring provided by the show during its first season was not real: its stone fell out and the ring turned green when she wore it in a pool. She said she was heartbroken, and believes the show now works with a jewelry partner to provide real rings. The show’s creator has said that rings offered to contestants now generally cost between $3,500 and $5,000, with contestants paying extra if they choose an upgrade. Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton married after meeting on the show and later welcomed a son; she also said the couple received about $700 a week while filming.
