Mahomes Expected as Chiefs Face Dolphins

Patrick Mahomes returned to the Chiefs’ starting lineup about nine months after tearing his ACL and has quickly regained form, helping Kansas City open the season 3-0. In the Chiefs’ win over Miami, he completed 20 of 24 passes for 246 yards, two touchdowns and an interception; through three games, he had 812 passing yards and seven touchdowns. Former All-Pro lineman Kyle Long praised Mahomes’ recovery and called him the NFL’s best quarterback. Miami entered the matchup with a struggling pass defense, ranking last in sacks and quarterback pressures, with poor communication and an inexperienced secondary cited as key problems.
