Martin Withdraws From Malaysian MotoGP, Says Title Lost
Aprilia’s Jorge Martin withdrew from the Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang after his fractured wrist, sustained in a crash at Phillip Island, left him unable to ride consistently or brake effectively. The 2024 champion said his title hopes were effectively over despite trailing Marc Marquez by only 10 points, and he chose not to risk worsening the injury for a likely small points return. Martin said he would keep fighting for his team and hopes to recover in time to race at next week’s Qatar Grand Prix.
