Missing Dog Search Intensifies as Yellowstone Winter Nears

Luna, a 10-year-old Jack Russell terrier from California, has been missing in Yellowstone National Park for more than a month after housekeeping accidentally let her out of a cabin while her owners were away. A lengthy attempt to catch her reportedly drove her farther into the wilderness, but she has since been spotted around employee housing, intersections and lodges. Volunteers led by Katie Boucher are tracking sightings and continuing the search, though approaching winter and freezing temperatures are making time critical. Boucher says Luna’s early experience surviving on the streets may help her endure the conditions.
