Morocco Extends, France Plans Fuel Aid Amid Conflict

France will extend targeted fuel support for sectors most affected by price increases linked to the conflict with Iran through Dec. 31, Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu’s office said. The measures raise aid for fishermen to 35 euro cents per liter, while construction and public-works companies will continue receiving 20 cents per liter for non-road diesel and farmers 15 cents per liter, with agricultural support also incorporated into drought-relief measures. The government says the assistance is intended to preserve economic activity, jobs and growth while giving businesses greater financial predictability. The extension follows nationwide strikes over wages and fuel costs and comes as Paris prepares a politically sensitive budget aimed at limiting the deficit ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
