Myanmar Deports Detained U.S. Businessman After Months

Myanmar’s military-backed government released and deported U.S. businessman Adam Castillo after months in detention over allegations that he violated American Chamber of Commerce regulations and improperly handled funds, charges his supporters dispute. Castillo, a former U.S. Marine and former head of the chamber, was detained at Yangon’s airport in June and transferred to U.S. custody before flying to Bangkok and preparing to return home.
