NHL Offseason Sends Familiar Faces Across League

Several prominent NHL players have changed teams ahead of the new season, reshaping contenders and rebuilding clubs. Brady Tkachuk moved from Ottawa to Florida, joining his brother Matthew and bringing scoring, physicality and leadership to a Panthers team expecting the return of captain Aleksander Barkov from a major knee injury. Tkachuk made an immediate impression in preseason with a three-point performance and a fight defending Barkov. Pavel Dorofeyev was traded from Vegas to the New York Rangers on a seven-year, $77 million contract and will be expected to become a leading scorer. Sergei Bobrovsky left Florida for Toronto on a three-year, $21 million deal, with the Maple Leafs counting on the 38-year-old to rebound after a difficult season.
