Nissan to bring first U.S. Rogue e-Power hybrid to market in November

Nissan plans to launch the 2027 Rogue e-Power hybrid in the U.S. in November, bringing its gasoline-engine-generated electricity system to the market for the first time. The system uses a 1.5-liter turbo engine to generate power for electric motors, with dual-motor all-wheel drive standard; Nissan says it will provide a quieter, smoother drive. The new hybrid replaces the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid, a short-lived, higher-priced model based on the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, and is expected to start at $35,490, about $10,000 less than the plug-in model’s listed price. Nissan aims for hybrids to capture 30% to 40% of U.S. midsize compact-segment sales and says it plans to bring e-Power to the smaller Kicks, with hybrid options for larger SUVs and pickups also under consideration. The company is targeting 80% U.S. production localization by 2030, up from about 65% currently, and says domestic Rogue e-Power production could begin as early as 2028.
