LSU’s basketball season opens with separate home games: the No. 9 women host Southeastern Louisiana, while the men face LSU New Orleans. The women’s opener is the first of seven straight games at the Maravich Center, and the Tigers enter after reaching the Sweet 16 last season; Southeastern brings a revamped roster after going 5-24. The men’s game marks Will Wade’s return as LSU coach, with Wade saying he wants a more balanced team after the Tigers finished 15-17 last season. LSU New Orleans has improved under coach Stacy Hollowell and will test the Tigers in the season opener.
