Kim Yo Jong inspects North Korean border after Seoul provocation warning
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, and senior military official Pak Jong Chon inspected border fortifications on Tuesday as Pyongyang warned its troops to respond swiftly and with overwhelming force if South Korean forces threaten them. The warnings followed Seoul’s pledge to take decisive action against further North Korean provocations, adding to tensions along the heavily militarized border. North Korea has been strengthening its frontier defenses since 2024 with fences, barriers and other security measures.
