Paxton reportedly cancels three Texas campaign stops
Ken Paxton’s Texas Senate campaign canceled several stops on its “Come and Take It” tour, including a Thursday appearance in Tyler that was dropped so he could join Vice President J.D. Vance in Weatherford and Beaumont, and a planned Sunday stop in El Paso, which his campaign attributed to scheduling and logistical changes. On Oct. 31, Paxton’s campaign announced a replacement Tyler appearance at Republic Icehouse for 11 a.m. Sunday. He remained scheduled to campaign in Mission and San Antonio that day. The cancellations came amid reports of small crowds at some recent Paxton events, while Democrat James Talarico drew a near-capacity crowd at his final El Paso stop. Paxton and Talarico are competing in a closely watched Senate race, with Election Day set for Nov. 3.
