Scottish Ecologist Fights to Keep Rescued Badger

Scottish ecologist Graeme Wilson is seeking permission to keep Harriet, a young badger he rescued after finding her starving in a cattle trough near her sett and nursed back to health. Wilson believes she was previously hand-reared and has become habituated to people, making release unsafe; he says attempts to return her to the wild failed. NatureScot rejected his application for an educational licence, saying she must go to a licensed zoo if she cannot be released. Wilson is continuing to challenge that outcome, with supporters backing his effort.
