Spain Widens Lead Atop FIFA Women’s Rankings
Spain widened its lead over the United States atop the FIFA Women’s World Ranking after beating the Americans 2-0 and drawing 2-2 during the latest international window. The U.S. remains second, but Germany moved closer to the Americans in third after winning both of its friendlies; England and Japan round out the top five. Denmark climbed to 10th, its first return to the top 10 since 2010, while Malawi made the biggest leap, rising 49 places to 104th after reaching the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final and qualifying for the 2027 World Cup. The rankings are scheduled to be updated again on Dec. 7.
