Arsenal Drawn Against Barcelona, Lyon in Champions League

Arsenal received one of the toughest draws in the Women’s Champions League league phase, facing Barcelona and eight-time champion Lyon, along with Benfica, Paris FC, Inter Milan and HB Køge. Chelsea will play Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain, Roma, Austria Wien, Häcken and OH Leuven, while Manchester City will meet PSG, Real Madrid, Austria Wien, Bayern Munich, Häcken and Inter Milan. The draw also sets up a Barcelona-Bayern Munich rematch and other high-profile matchups involving Europe’s leading clubs. The 18-team league phase begins Sept. 22-23 and concludes Dec. 16, with the top four advancing directly to the quarterfinals and teams finishing fifth through 12th entering February’s knockout playoffs. The final is scheduled for Warsaw in late May, and UEFA will distribute €18.2 million among the participating clubs.
