Chargers' McConkey Questionable After Hit vs. Cardinals
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey left the team’s Week 1 game against the Arizona Cardinals after taking a hard hit from linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. while attempting a catch over the middle. McConkey appeared to be in pain and reached toward his back before walking off the field and entering the blue medical tent, then heading to the locker room for further evaluation. Reports variously identified the concern as involving his left hip and lower back, while another report cited a chest injury; the Chargers listed him as questionable to return. Before leaving, McConkey had five catches for 82 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. If he cannot return, Quentin Johnston, Tre’ Harris and Brenen Thompson are expected to assume larger roles in the Chargers’ receiving corps.
