Bills’ Ed Oliver Out After Warmup Hip Injury
Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver will miss Thursday night’s game against the Detroit Lions after suffering a hip injury during pregame warmups, despite not appearing on Buffalo’s weekly injury report. Oliver was coming off a strong season-opening performance after missing most of 2025 with ankle and biceps injuries, and his absence leaves Buffalo’s defensive line, already without T.J. Sanders, facing a Lions offense that rushed for 165 yards in Week 1; rookie defensive tackle Zane Durant is also on injured reserve. Safety Cole Bishop was active for Buffalo, which elevated running back Frank Gore Jr. and wide receiver Greg Dortch, while Detroit was without offensive linemen Christian Mahogany, Blake Miller and Cade Mays and starting safeties Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph.
