Comerica Park to Become Fifth Third Park

The Detroit Tigers’ home stadium will be renamed Fifth Third Park after Fifth Third Bancorp acquired Comerica in an all-stock deal valued at roughly $11 billion. The change was announced before the Tigers’ final homestand at the 26-year-old venue, which opened as Comerica Park in 2000, and the new name is expected to take effect for the 2027 season. Although the Tigers’ naming-rights agreement with Comerica had been extended through 2034, Fifth Third officials indicated that a new name would follow the merger. The renaming is the first for the stadium and continues Fifth Third’s broader sports sponsorship strategy, which includes venues in Toledo, Cincinnati, Georgia and South Carolina.
