Atlanta Dream plans 2027 move to State Farm Arena
The Atlanta Dream announced Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, a multiyear agreement to play all 25 regular-season home games at downtown State Farm Arena beginning with the 2027 WNBA season, leaving Gateway Center Arena in College Park, its home since 2021. The change lines up with the league’s move to a 50-game schedule. Gateway seats about 3,500; State Farm’s capacity is reported as more than 17,000 in some accounts and 16,000-17,000 in others. The team sold out every Gateway game for three seasons, had eight State Farm sellouts over that span, and reports more than 400% season-ticket growth in five years. President and COO Morgan Shaw Parker said the move reflects fan passion and franchise growth and will let the Dream welcome thousands more fans while bringing Gateway’s energy to the heart of the city. Andrew Saltzman of the Hawks and State Farm Arena said the Dream’s brand and fan base have grown tremendously and called the deal a chance to elevate women’s basketball at the venue. A team statement invited fans into the larger building. As of the announcement the Dream led the New York Liberty 1-0 after a Game 1 win Sunday at State Farm before 9,745. The 2027 schedule has not been announced. Contested items beyond the capacity range are none identified in the record.
