Oregon State's Legree sets Pac-12 freshman honors record
Oregon State freshman receiver Jesse Legree extended his Pac-12 Freshman of the Week streak to seven games after helping the Beavers beat Washington State 48-30, including a 90-yard touchdown catch. He has recorded at least 100 receiving yards in every game of his career and now leads the FBS with 1,040 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns. Legree is only the fourth FBS player this century to reach 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns through seven games, joining past Biletnikoff Award winners who also finished among the Heisman finalists. His production has fueled calls for greater Heisman consideration, with commentators arguing that the Pac-12’s reduced profile may be limiting his national attention. Oregon State, now 5-2 after an 0-2 start, visits Fresno State on Oct. 31 as Legree pursues an eighth straight weekly honor and looks to extend his record-setting season.
