Wiegman signs England deal through Euro 2029
Sarina Wiegman has signed a two-year contract extension as England women’s head coach, keeping her in charge through Euro 2029 and next summer’s World Cup in Brazil. Her assistants Janneke Bijl and Arvid Smit, and goalkeeper coach Darren Ward, will also remain with the team through 2029. The deal covers the 2027 Nations League campaign, which offers Team GB a qualification route to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics; Wiegman says her immediate focus is securing England’s place at the World Cup. Since taking charge in 2021, she has led England to European titles in 2022 and 2025 and the 2023 World Cup final.
