Unauthorized Drone Halts Fleetwood-Arsenal Cup Match

Arsenal’s Carabao Cup tie at Fleetwood Town was stopped in its opening minutes after referee Michael Salisbury spotted an unauthorized drone above Highbury Stadium. After discussions with team officials and police, players left the pitch as a precaution; play resumed about eight to ten minutes later after the drone operator was reportedly identified. No injuries or other harm were reported. Fleetwood took the lead through Aaron Loupalo-Bi before Arsenal’s Viktor Gyökeres equalized.
