Stokes Throws Four TDs in Memphis’ 45-21 Win

Memphis rebounded from its first loss of the season by defeating UT Martin 45-21 on Saturday. Quarterback Marcus Stokes completed 26 of 32 passes for 258 yards and four touchdowns, helping the Tigers build a 24-7 halftime lead and finish with 572 yards of offense. Running back Jordan Thompson added 110 yards and a touchdown, while Memphis also received scores from backup quarterback Air Noland and its defense held UT Martin to 291 total yards. UT Martin quarterback Tate Surber threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns, but the Skyhawks could not overcome Memphis’ early advantage. Memphis is off next week before visiting Charlotte on Oct. 3.
