Stranger Brings 6-Year-Old Home After Early Bus Drop-Off
A 6-year-old Cleveland girl was found crying and alone near a busy road after her school bus dropped her off earlier than expected without a parent or guardian waiting. Tiyonna Betts stopped to help and drove the child home, where her mother, Mari Richardson, said she was grateful the stranger had intervened. Rightway Transportation said the drop-off violated its safety procedures; the driver was removed from the route, reprimanded and given additional training. Richardson filed a police report, said she no longer trusts the bus service and wants to press charges, while the company apologized and said it would work to prevent a similar incident.
