Tickets Reportedly Top $42,000 Ahead of Texas-Ohio State
Demand for the sold-out Ohio State–Texas matchup in Austin has driven resale prices sharply higher, with the cheapest listings generally ranging from about $440 to $550 and average prices around $800 to $900. Premium seats were listed for several thousand dollars, while one SeatGeek listing reportedly topped $42,000. The matchup’s appeal stems from both teams’ top-five rankings, the presence of ESPN’s College GameDay and expectations of a record crowd at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. High prices have left many students and other fans priced out, although some are seeking tickets through university programs and virtual queues. Economists and local businesses expect the influx of visiting fans to boost hotels, restaurants, transportation providers and other Austin businesses, with some restaurants anticipating full capacity throughout the day.
