Trump Convention Speech Averages 2.5 Million on Fox
President Donald Trump’s opening-night speech at the Republican midterm convention drew about 2.5 million viewers on Fox News, according to preliminary Nielsen figures—roughly comparable to or below the audiences for the network’s usual Hannity and Gutfeld! programming. Fox still outperformed CNN and MS NOW in the time slot, but the speech produced only a modest increase over Fox’s typical two-hour audience and did not generate the expected ratings boost. Online viewership was also relatively small, with only several thousand people watching across the Republican National Committee, convention and Fox News YouTube streams, far below the digital crowds often seen at Trump’s 2024 campaign rallies. Fox was among the few major outlets to air the address in full, while other networks carried regular programming, limited portions of the speech or alternative coverage; the event also competed with the NFL season opener.
